JAMAICA — A 50-year-old man was killed last Friday when he was hit by an SUV while crossing the street, police said.

The man, whose name had not been released as of Wednesday, was struck by a black Mercury Mountaneer around 11:30 a.m. he was in the crosswalk at the intersection of 160th Street and Archer Avenue, the NYPD said.

He was taken to Jamaica Hospital where was later pronounced dead, the authorities said.

The driver of the vehicle stayed at the scene and the NYPD’s Highway Patrol Collision Investigation Squad was looking into the accident.
