SOUTH JAMAICA — A South Jamaica man was arrested last weekend after allegedly going on a crime spree in Brooklyn that included two carjackings, a shooting and multiple hit-and-runs, the NYPD said.

Police said Clinton Lawson, 30, was armed with a gun when he forced a 64-year-old man and his 58-year-old passenger out of a black 2010 Toyota Corolla near Eastern Parkway and Utica Avenue around 5:30 p.m. July 19.

Lawson then drove the stolen car to Kingston Avenue, where he hit a 75-year-old pedestrian and a 2014 Mercedes-Benz parked near Saint John’s Place, police said.

Authorities said the owner of the Mercedes, a 22-year-old man, approached Lawson, causing the suspect to shoot at him and miss. The pedestrian was taken to Kings County Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, the NYPD said.

After fleeing the scene on foot, Lawson then forced two 27-year-olds out of a black 2003 Nissan Xterra near Sterling Place and Brooklyn Avenue before striking two more parked vehicles near Rogers Avenue, police said.

He ran from the scene and was later apprehended by police in a large crowd that had formed outside a nearby residence, where witnesses said they saw Lawson enter, according to cops.

Lawson was charged with robbery, assault, burglary, reckless endangerment, criminal possession of a weapon, aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and leaving the scene of an accident, police said.
