Since the legislative session finished at the end of June, Assemblyman Ron Kim (D-Flushing) has raised more than $160,000 for the July filing period.
The two main fund-raisers, held June 30 and July 9, were led by young professionals, small business owners and community leaders, Kim said.
“We feel very grateful,” Kim said. “I wasn’t focused on any of the political fund-raising activities until the session was over.”
Kim said that he raised most of the money in late June and July, noting that he was able to attract a number of supporters.
