California Republican Representative David Nunes, chairman of the House Intelligence Committee and a member of Trump’s transition team, was supposed to on a bipartisan basis look into whether there was Russian interference in our recent election.
Recent exposures of his private conversation with Trump, without first discussing it with the Democratic members of his committee, suggest collusion with the White House and may well have destroyed the credibility of the committee he chairs investigating Russian interference in the election. He is unfit for the job and must be replaced by an independent overseer of the investigation.
If House Speaker Paul Ryan fails to order an independent investigation, his legacy will not be that as Speaker of The House of Representatives, but that as Speaker of The House of Ill Repute.
