Community Board 11 welcomed a new district manager to take over the role left open by Susan Seinfeld, who retired in June. Joseph Marziliano, a community coordinator for the city Health Department and a former community assistant for CB 8, will take over as CB 11 goes back into session in September.

Marziliano is a Fresh Meadows resident who, at the currently listed position on LinkedIn, specializes in forwarding complaints from elected officials and community members specifically in Queens to the Health Department and presenting material to neighborhoods about issues concerning their well-being.

Seinfeld’s retirement was announced in April and was met with shock from those at the CB 11 meeting. She said she wanted to spend more time with family, especially her grandchildren, was the reason for her retirement.

Seinfeld was a spokeswoman for former Councilman Sheldon Leffler (D-Hollis) before becoming the district manager for CB 11 over a decade ago.

a list for the new manager from queens says:
Great news. Now here is a short list of to dos:
1. Get the bike riders off of the sidewalks to protect pedestrians and children departing buses
2. Get the cars4. parked on the sidewalk off the sidewalk for the same reasons as point number 1.
3. Make left turns illegal at places where they do not make sense. This includes shopping centers in the middle of streets and busy side streets. A separate list will be provided upon request.
4. Make parking legal only on one side of narrow side streets so traffic can flow properly.
