It’s karaoke time on the pub crawl known as Santathon, when scores of partygoers dress up like St. Nick and go from bar to bar on Queens Boulevard.

Whoever thought that dressing up like Santa and going on a pub crawl with all your friends was a great holiday idea probably did not get the credit he or she desreves. Because the birth of what has come to be called Santathon has been a major contribution to the already crowded field of Yuletide traditions.

In Woodside, nine bars along Queens Boulevard — all within walking distance of each other — have turned the rollicking Santa fest into a holiday fundraiser, now in its sixth year. In case you missed it, here’s a sample of last week’s Santathon.
