Cops were searching for an unidentified man wanted for questioning in connection with an attempted armed robbery at a Jamaica subway station Saturday night.

According to police, the attempted heist occurred Dec. 1 at around 6:45 p.m. inside the 179th Street station near the corner of Midland Parkway and Hillside Avenue.

Law enforcement sources said that a booth clerk opened the door for another MTA employee when the suspect came from behind and pushed both employees inside the booth to pull open the door.

The MTA workers managed to slam the door shut at which time the man displayed a black firearm and threatened MTA workers, police said. When the MTA workers refused to open the door, the suspect fled the scene, police said.

Police said no property was taken and neither MTA employee was injured.

The NYPD released images of the suspected robber, who’s described as a black man standing 5 feet 10 inches tall, between the age of 40-50, and having a medium build. He was last seen wearing a blue parka jacket, blue jeans and brown work boots.

Anyone with information in regard to this incident is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).
