A Woodside man could be looking at jail time for allegedly storing a large amount of marijuana in a College Point warehouse, according to the Queens district attorney’s office.

Phillip Kim, 35, of 61st Street, was arraigned Jan. 9 before Criminal Court Judge Eugene Guarino after being charged with first-degree criminal possession of marijuana and fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.

Officers acting on a search warrant intercepted four shipping pallets and several smaller boxes containing vials of an unknown substance Jan. 4, according to District Attorney Richard Brown. Police confirmed the contents to be marijuana and its chemical component: THC.

The pallets were marked for delivery to City Close Storage in Queens, Brown said.

“An unsuspecting late night visit by police armed with a court-authorized search warrant led to the arrest of a Queens man on drug charges and the seizure of large amounts of marijuana and THC — an extract or synthetic form of marijuana,” Brown said. “Let this be a warning to all those who deal drugs in Queens, that you will be caught and you will be prosecuted.”

On Jan. 7, police delivered the shipment to the warehouse in a truck using information on a packing slip to call the recipient who sent a man down to meet the delivery.

Kim allegedly accepted the shipment after a brief inspection and was arrested, according to the DA’s office.

Cops then searched rest of the facility belonging to the other individual who has yet to be apprehended and the contents sealed on the pallets.

Authorities found a total of 392 bags of marijuana and an additional 300 shrink wrapped cartons containing 100 vials each of THC coming to a grand total of 30,000 vials of the marijuana derivative.

Kim is now under supervised release and will return to court on Feb. 20.
