Halloween festival at Maple Grove

On Saturday, October 17, The Friends of Maple Grove held a Halloween Festival at Maple Grove Cemetery in Kew Gardens. The event included walking tours, a pumpkin carving contest, giveaways, face painting and storytelling, among other things.

Christopher Miller’s pumpkin, which was carved with an image of Medusa, won first place for the adult contest. Second place went to Matt Lecker, who carved a skull pumpkin. In the children’s category, Karla Vasquez won first place and Daniel Vasquez won second place.
