During a recent brief visit to Los Angels to attend a family affair, I again discovered that our big city has concerns similar to other large urban areas.

I laughed at an editorial in the May 11 Los Angeles Times because they were unhappy that interim Schools Superintendent Raymond Cortines was leaving. The editorial called Cortines
