Many good kids garner awards in high school

Awards assemblies, graduation ceremonies, and staff recognition days all honor the achievements of Queens high school students, faculty, and staff. Since so many students have achieved so much in Queens high schools a special assembly is held for the graduating seniors prior to the actual graduation.

The 2,000-plus students of unzoned Thomas A. Edison Vocational and Technical High School on Grand Central Parkway in Jamaica, just south of Fresh Meadows, are drawn from many neighborhoods in Queens. Its Senior Class Awards Assembly program has fully 10 pages of awards
