Nicole Losito faced the mother of all jams, as Molloy loaded the bases with no outs in the top of the first inning. But the junior hurler from Howard Beach fed Christina Del Maestro a steady diet of fastballs, and on the third the Molloy cleanup hitter bounced back to the mound for a 1-2-3 double play.

Losito then struck out Michele Viani to end the inning, and for good measure her bloop single in the bottom of the first inning scored Michelle Walsh for the Hilltoppers’ lone run in a 1-0 win Monday.

Losito scattered four hits in a complete game shutout, striking out six and walking just one.

Honor Roll

Despite the loss, Del Maestro was brilliant in the circle for Molloy. She allowed just one hit — Losito’s bloop single into short right field — and one earned run while striking out 11 and walking three ... St. Francis Prep’s Nina Cesare pitched a pair of shutouts, including a no-hitter in a 3-0 win over Christ the King. She allowed one hit and struck out 10 in a 4-0 blanking of Stella Maris ... Bayside pitcher Annel Sanchez pitched a pair of two-hitters in wins over Cardozo and Mary Louis ... Seth Auerbach made a triumphant return from a pair of broken legs to pitch four innings of no-hit ball in Forest Hills’ 17-10 win over Bayside ... McClancy shortstop Vinny Johnson was a double away from hitting for the cycle in the Crusaders’ 16-2 win over Holy Cross.
