Straddling the lines of musical taste, Crawford played Whitney Houston’s ‘One Moment In Time’ to his players in practice, asking them afterwards why they wanted to win the championship.

It’s debatable if the song was responsible for Newtown scoring 13 runs in the first inning, but one thing is certain: Crawford, who lost in the quarterfinals last year and in the inaugural city championship game in 2002, hit all the right notes (and pressed all the right buttons) in getting the Pioneers over the hump this season with a league championship.
