The New York Yankees are always looking for prospects on and off and field by signing young ballplayers to contracts, but most importantly honoring young leaders of tomorrow with the New York Yankees Scholarship Awards. Presented through community boards, the latest of the Yankees scholarships were recently presented at the offices of Community Board 11 to four outstanding young people from the area.
CB 11 district manager John Fratta was joined by representatives from throughout the community at a general executive board meeting on Monday, January 9, to honor the accomplishments of four young residents of the district who continue to reach out to others and provide care to those in need.
