Long Island man arrested for LIE DUI

OAKLAND GARDENS — A Long Island man was arrested for allegedly speeding through the Long Island Expressway while drunk, police said.

Seth A. Chaikin, 30, of Massapequa, L.I., was allegedly observed driving 125 miles per hour on the LIE and 207th Street around 4 a.m. Aug. 3, according to his criminal complaint. When he was stopped by police, officers said he had a strong odor of alcohol on his breath and slurred speech.

A Intoxilyzer test was performed later that morning and indicated Chaikin had a .162 blood alcohol level, the criminal complaint said. He was indicted Aug. 3 on DUI and speeding charges, according to the Queens district attorney's office.
