FRESH MEADOWS — A car owner got more than he bargained for when a prospective buyer drove off in his minivan, police said.
At 9:15 p.m. Dec. 10, the owner of a blue 1996 Dodge Caravan with a New York Yankees license plate frame was showing his car to an unidentified black man on 53rd Avenue, police said. When the owner shut the minivan’s hood and walked over to the passenger side to give the buyer a test drive, the suspect drove off with the vehicle, police said.
No arrests had been made by press time Tuesday.
