Julio Figueroa has turned a lifelong passion into a much needed sports program for Bronx youth.
In 2005, after realizing his body could no longer take the rigors of playing baseball and football, Figueroa decided to pass his love of sports on to local youth with the creation of the New York Wildcards. He has since found that teaching kids the games he loved actually was an outlet for his desire to continue playing and a way to put the Bronx on the map in football.
