FAR ROCKAWAY — Police said a 53−year−old man was in critical condition Saturday after he was struck by a car on Beach Channel Drive Saturday evening.
Police said someone driving a tan van struck the man as he crossed Beach Channel Drive near the corner of Beach 38th Street at about 7:40 p.m. EMS officials responded to the scene and rushed the man, whose identity was not released, to Peninsula Hospital, where he was in critical condition after the accident.
Police said the driver of the vehicle fled the scene, but no arrests had been made as of Tuesday. The investigation was ongoing.
