JACKSON HEIGHTS — A 36−year−old East Elmhurst man was arrested after he allegedly struck another man in the head with a beer bottle at a Jackson Heights billiards hall, the Queens district attorney said.
Jose Sangurimg, of 32−33 99th St. in East Elmhurst, was arraigned Jan. 6 before Queens Criminal Court Judge Suzanne Melendez on charges of assault and harassment, Queens DA Richard Brown said. The defendant, released on his own recognizance, will return to court Feb. 18, he said.
The defendant allegedly got into a verbal dispute with another man at Roosevelt Billiards, on Roosevelt Avenue in Jackson Heights, between 1:40 a.m. and 2 a.m. Jan. 5, the DA said. Sangurimg allegedly struck the left side of the victim’s face with a beer bottle, causing a laceration and bleeding, Brown said. The victim received two stitches at a local hospital, Brown said.
