City teachers need a new contract

Another school year is over and the teachers in our city public schools still do not have a new contract.

We are still working under the old, expired contract. We deserve to receive our raises, albeit small ones, no thanks to Mayor Michael Bloomberg. He is not being fair at all to our union, the United Federation of Teachers.

We all work hard to help our students and we should be shown appreciation by the mayor and the city schools chancellor. Let’s hope we will have a fair and decent contract by the time the new school year rolls around in September.
