Sunnyside teen shot to death in Brooklyn: Police

A Sunnyside teenager was killed over the weekend while he was out late at night in Brooklyn, police said.

Investigators have not identified who was responsible for killing Jesus Mendez, 16, of 45th Street Sunday morning. Mendez was found at the corner of 56th Street and 3rd Avenue around 2 a.m. with a gunshot wound to his chest, police said. He was rushed to Lutheran Hospital in Brooklyn but was pronounced dead when he got there, according to police.
