JAMAICA — A Queens judge sentenced a former teacher at a Jamaica intermediate school to six months in prison after he pleaded guilty to having sex with a 14-year-old student in 2009, the New York Post reported.

Charles Oross, 45, of Long Island, admitted in September to having sex with the student where he worked at Susan B. Anthony IS 238 at 88-15 182nd St., as well as in his car, the Post reported. Oross’ lawyer had requested a sentence of four months or less so he could be home for Christmas with his four sons, aged 13- to 7-years-old, the Post reported.

Oross’ wife, who is now estranged from him, had discovered what Oross did on Facebook and had reached out to the student, who is now 17, the Post reported.

Queens Supreme Court Justice Richard Buchter denied the request, the Post reported.

Oross was also sentenced to 10 years probation, participating in a sex offender program and registering as a sex offender, the Post reported.
