Man wanted in attempted rape in 104th Precinct

RIDGEWOOD — The NYPD is looking for a man suspected of robbing and attempting to rape a woman within the confines of the 104th Precinct.

Police said Saturday at 10:30 p.m. a man grabbed a 25-year-old woman from behind and pushed her to the ground before trying to rape her. When the woman screamed for help he took her purse and ran away, police said.

Police describe the man as black with short black hair, about 25 to 35 years old, about 6 feet tall and 210 pounds. He was wearing a gray jacket, police said.

The 104th Precinct includes Ridgewood, Glendale, Middle Village and parts of Maspeth.
