Jamaica man convicted in 2003 murder: DA

JAMAICA — A southeast Queens man was convicted last week of committing murder during an attempted robbery in 2003, the Queens district attorney said.

A jury found Troy Lockley, 40, guilty of murder, burglary, armed robbery and weapons possession for the 2003 killing of Fabian Ceballos, DA Richard Brown said.

Lockley, who was arrested in 2005 after investigators say his DNA was found on a cigarette butt at the crime scene, had been convicted of the crime in 2008, the DA said. The conviction was thrown out and the case had to be retried, according to authorities.

Brown said Lockley broke into his victim’s Queens Village home and shot Ceballos once in the chest.
